Caves and potholes in Alt Àneu

Alt Àneu, made up of eight settlements (Alós, Àrreu, Borén, Isavarre, Isil, Son, Sorpe and València d’Àneu, the district’s capital), stretches across the northernmost tip of Pallars Sobirà, right up to the French border. Its rich Romanesque heritage — such as the church of Sant Pere de Sorpe — coexists with high-mountain Pyrenean relief where limestone terrain generates high-altitude cavities.

The catalogue includes 58 cavitats (16 coves i 42 avencs) in Alt Àneu. AULÀ, AVENC GRAN D', amb 1530 m de recorregut.
