Caves and shafts in Baix Pallars

Baix Pallars, the southernmost municipality of Pallars Sobirà, grew in 1969 when it annexed several villages, eventually bringing together more than twenty of them, including Gerri de la Sal — known for its historic salt works. Situated halfway between the Pyrenees and the Pre-Pyrenees, its limestone relief generates a remarkable catalogue of cavities.
