Caves and potholes in Malgrat de Mar

Malgrat de Mar, at the northern edge of the Maresme, sits at the mouth of the Tordera river, where this coastal comarca borders the Selva. Its municipal area combines the built-up, tourist-oriented coastal plain with the first foothills of the Maresme hinterland ranges, a relief where the limestone bedrock generates the occasional cavity within a catalogue otherwise dominated by the coast.
