Caves and potholes in Martorelles

Martorelles, in the Vallès Oriental, sits on the bank of the Besòs river, one of the smallest and most densely built-up municipalities in the comarca, within the Barcelona metropolitan conurbation. Its municipal area, mostly flat and industrialized, leaves little room for natural relief, though the area’s cave catalogue does record the occasional formation tied to the geological substrate of the Besòs basin.
