Caves with Argiles lithology

Clay is a very fine-grained, soft sediment in which extensive systems rarely form: what you’ll usually find are small overhangs and shallow shelters, often associated with the edge of a stream or a slope. It’s not the lithology to look for if you’re after a long passage, but it is if your interest is understanding how different sediments within the same valley respond differently to erosion.

3 cavitats (2 coves i 1 avenc) with lithology Argiles have been catalogued, mainly in Mont-roig del Camp, Tarragona and Maià de Montcal.
