Caves with Sals lithology
Caves in salt are the catalog’s rarity: salt is so soluble that passages can open and close again in cycles tied to rainfall, and those that survive long enough to be cataloged tend to be linked to salt diapirs like the one in Cardona. If saline karst in Catalonia interests you, here you’ll find a highly localized geological phenomenon, quite different from the usual karst in limestone.
The catalogue includes 3 cavitats with lithology Sals, concentrated in Cardona.
