Caves and potholes in Alcanar

Alcanar, in Montsià, is the southernmost municipality in Catalonia, with its coastal settlement of les Cases d’Alcanar looking out over the Mediterranean, a few kilometres from the Ebro delta. Its municipal district climbs inland as far as the foothills of Els Ports, where the limestone relief produces a catalogue of cavities quite different from the coastal plain.
