Caves and potholes in Capafonts

Capafonts, whose name comes from the Latin caput fontis (“source of the spring”), referring to the source of the river Brugent, sits right at the centre of the Muntanyes de Prades, in Baix Camp, at 751 metres above sea level. The rugged relief that even shapes the layout of its streets is the same relief that generates a dense karst here, with a catalogue of cavities remarkable for a village of only around a hundred inhabitants.
