Caves and potholes in Castellet i la Gornal

Castellet i la Gornal, in the Alt Penedès, takes its name from its medieval castle, which rises atop a hill overlooking the waters of the Foix reservoir. The municipality, surrounded by vineyards like much of the comarca, extends toward the foothills approaching the Garraf massif. This transitional relief contains karst cavities typical of the limestone that outcrops here.
