Caves and potholes in Palafrugell

Palafrugell, in the Baix Empordà, combines an inland centre with a well-known coastline of coves and cliffs, such as Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc and Tamariu. This rugged, rocky coast, carved by marine erosion on the metamorphic and granitic rocks of the Costa Brava, gives rise to coastal caves that add to the cavities of the interior of the municipality.
