Caves and potholes in Palau-saverdera

Palau-saverdera, in the Alt Empordà, sits at the foot of the massís de l’Albera, the eastern end of the Pyrenees that sinks into the sea near cap de Creus. This granitic, steep relief, with the wetlands of the Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l’Empordà close by, contains cavities linked to the distinctive geology of this border sector with France.
