Caves and potholes in Begues

Begues, in Baix Llobregat, is the municipality with the most catalogued cavities in the whole catalogue. Sitting right in the middle of the Garraf massif, its municipal district lies on one of the densest karst terrains in Catalonia, with a very high number of potholes — consistent with the rugged limestone plateau relief that characterises the whole massif. It has, for decades, been one of the reference points of Catalan speleology.

198 cavitats (19 coves i 179 avencs) in Begues have been catalogued. FERLA, AVENC DE LA, amb 704 m de recorregut.
