Caves and potholes in Casserres

Casserres, in Berguedà, sits on the bank of the river Llobregat, between Berga and Puig-reig, in territory that combines a fertile valley floor with the steeper slopes surrounding it. The village preserves remains of the old Augustinian monastery of Santa Maria de Casserres. This mid-mountain relief, with limestone sectors, gives rise to a cavity or two recorded in the catalogue of Berguedà.
