Caves and potholes in Castellbell i el Vilar

Castellbell i el Vilar, in the Bages, stretches along the banks of the Llobregat river, at the foot of the Montserrat massif with its distinctive eroded conglomerate formations. The municipality combines an industrialized valley floor, with former textile colonies, with steeper slopes rising toward the mountain. This relief near Montserrat contains cavities typical of the conglomerate and limestone of the area.
