Caves and potholes in Mas de Barberans

Mas de Barberans, in the Montsià, spreads across the edge of the Ports de Beseit massif, one of the most important karst territories in southern Catalonia. This limestone relief, rugged and sparsely populated, shares with neighbouring municipalities a notable set of cavities, the result of intense rock dissolution in this range that separates the Baix Ebre and the Montsià from the Aragonese interior.
