Caves and potholes in Mieres

Mieres, in the Garrotxa, sits in the valley of the Fluvià river, in a territory of transition between the Empordà plain and the volcanic mountains of the Garrotxa. Its municipal area, of gentle relief and mostly agricultural, contains occasional karst formations that add to the cave catalogue of a comarca best known for its volcanic activity.
