Caves and potholes in Saldes

Saldes, in the Berguedà, sits at the foot of the Pedraforca, the twin-peaked mountain that is one of the symbols of the Catalan Pyrenees and one of the most extensively studied limestone massifs in the country from a speleological point of view. Its territory, high mountain and very sparsely populated, contains one of the most notable sets of cavities in the catalogue, carved by the dissolution of limestone rock over millions of years.

There are 17 cavitats (6 coves i 11 avencs) catalogued in Saldes. PALOMERA, ESQUERDES DE, amb 500 m de recorregut.
