Caves and potholes in Torroella de Montgrí

Torroella de Montgrí, in the Baix Empordà, sits at the foot of the Montgrí massif, an isolated limestone promontory that rises abruptly over the Empordà plain and the delta of the Ter. This isolated, abrupt relief, crowned by the castell del Montgrí, concentrates most of the cavities catalogued in the municipal area, in contrast with the agricultural plain that surrounds it.
