Caves and shafts in la Terra Alta

Terra Alta, as a geographic unit, is the plateau that gives the county its name, with foothills towards Ribera d’Ebre, also marked by the memory of the Battle of the Ebre in the nearby ranges of Pàndols and Cavalls. Its limestone terrain, in a dry climate with a winemaking tradition, generates its own karst there.
