Caves and potholes in Esparreguera

Esparreguera, at the foot of the massís de Montserrat and by the riu Llobregat, is known throughout Catalonia for the Passió d’Esparreguera, a large theatrical performance of the Passion of Christ held there every year. Its territory rises towards the conglomerate massif of Montserrat, where the karst gives rise to cavities of the same singular nature as the rest of the massif.
