Caves and potholes in el Port de la Selva

El Port de la Selva, on the northern coast of the Alt Empordà, opens onto a sheltered bay at the foot of the massís del cap de Creus. From the village a path climbs towards the monestir de Sant Pere de Rodes, one of the most important Romanesque complexes in Catalonia, atop the serra de Rodes. This coastal relief, sculpted by the tramuntana wind and eroded in metamorphic and limestone rock, contains some cavities close to the shoreline.

4 cavitats in el Port de la Selva have been catalogued. ENCANTATS, COVA DELS, amb 10 m de recorregut.
