Caves and potholes in el Boumort

The serra del Boumort, protected as a Reserva Nacional de Caça, rises between Pallars Jussà, Alt Urgell and Pallars Sobirà as one of the most sharply defined Prepyrenean massifs in the area. Its isolation and low human pressure have preserved an extensive and diverse karst, with a high number of cataloged cavities – mostly potholes, consistent with the range’s abrupt relief.

There are 158 cavitats (94 coves i 64 avencs) catalogued in el Boumort, mostly in les Valls d'Aguilar, Coll de Nargó and Abella de la Conca. BORDONERA, FONT, amb 955 m de recorregut.
