Caves and potholes in Solsonès

Solsonès acts as a hinge between Central Catalonia and the Prepyrenees, and its karst relief —around the serra del Verd and towards Sant Llorenç de Morunys— reflects this transition: less abrupt than neighboring Berguedà, but with enough limestone to sustain a considerable number of cataloged caves and potholes.

There are 175 cavitats (131 coves i 44 avencs) catalogued in Solsonès, mostly in Odèn, Navès and Guixers. SANT JAUME, BÒFIA DE, amb 479 m de recorregut.

Solsonès has an area of 1001 km², located mostly in el Prepirineu. This means an approximate density of 17.5 catalogued caves per 100 km².
