Caves and shafts in el Montseny

Montseny, declared a UNESCO biosphere reserve, is one of the best-known and most visited massifs in Catalonia, straddling Vallès Oriental and Osona. Its great diversity of environments – from Mediterranean holm oak groves to high-mountain beech forest – corresponds to an equally diverse lithology (granites, schists, some calcareous sectors), which generates cavities of varied characteristics there.
