Caves and potholes in el Prepirineu

The Prepirineu is the belt of mid- and high-mountain terrain between the Pyrenean plain and the Pirineu Axial, with limestone massifs such as Cadí-Moixeró, Boumort, Montsec and Alta Garrotxa. It is, after the Serralada Prelitoral, the geographic unit with the second-highest number of cataloged cavities, a direct reflection of the extent and strength of the Prepyrenean karst, with some of the longest and deepest systems recorded.

1309 cavitats (816 coves i 493 avencs) in el Prepirineu have been catalogued, mainly in Odèn, Torroella de Montgrí and Camarasa. CUBERES, COVA, amb 13513 m de recorregut.
